Ganna Grygorova

In my group we deal with synthesis and characterization of biologically active RE-based nanoparticles able to penetrate and selectively interact with different intra-cellular structures. These nanoparticles can be used both as passive carriers for drug molecules and as active participants in biological processes. Processes of nanoparticle-biomolecules interaction are investigated using wide range of spectroscopic techniques. My research also connected with development of nanoparticles for photodynamic therapy able to destroy cancer cells under X-ray and IR laser excitation and investigation of their spectroscopic and biological properties.

Dr. Dragovic is the Medical Director of Edith McNaughton Ford Center for Radiation Oncology at the Cottage Campus of the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS). She has been a Senior Staff Physician at HFHS since August 1985. Her interests and areas of expertise have varied over the three and a half decades and included management of head & neck cancer, lymphomas, soft tissue sarcomas, breast, prostate and gastrointestinal cancers, with research interests in alternate fractionation radiation schedules, radio-sensitizers, hyperthermia, and more recently, MR-guided radiation therapy using the ViewRay technology.
